Good Morning,


A great looking one as well. Its 43 degrees with a few clouds at 5:30am. The chances of rain are much greater today and tomorrow as a cold front moves accross the area. The moisture as of late has been nice as June and the first part of July were very dry.

A meeting on the ski resorts future will take place today. Like so many others in the past, who knows if it will amount to a new opening of the area but we are all hopeful each time it happens. When and if anything positive occurs, I will post it here.

The wildlife in the area continues to be a hot topic as well with sightings of mountain lions and multiple bear sightings daily. We had a bear break into a garage yesterday and do quite a bit of damage. They seem to really be on the prowl right now for food. I had a young man come into my office last night and ask what him and his friends had to do to find a bear. I thought about telling him to rub peanut butter all over his body and sleep outside but then I got concerned that he may actually do it.

The Grandote Golf Course continues to have improving conditions. We just had an annual group in who said the greens are much improved and the fairways are almost perfect.

Our craft magician Lisa continues to supply our gift shop with new items. Wait till you see some of the latest pieces she brought in yesterday. Although, she brought in five pieces and two were gone in the first hour. Thanks to Lisa and her husband Larry for their haed work in keeping our little shop stocked with new and interesting pieces.

Thanks for everyones support over the Summer, its been a great year. The office will be open all day today. Hope to see you in Cuchara!
